JEC was established in Johannesburg on the arrival of Luer and Laure Freerks from the Far East, where both held senior

management positions in Liner shipping, International Freight Forwarding and Trading/Merchandising.

Through worldwide connections with overseas markets and local agents a large partner network was soon established, thereby

ensuring effective communications and sustainable growth.

Local experience was added when senior staff with a strong air cargo background joined the company.

A small office at OR Tambo airport rapidly expanded the opportunities which subsequently required adding clearing and cross

border services.

Now well placed at the front-line airfreight and sea freight shipments have generated a regular income for the now specialist

forwarder, as tank container operations into South Africa with leading operators from Europe completed the activity.

Resulting from the local promotion of the automotive manufacturing sector JEC had by 2000 built a strong presence with both

OEMs and sub-suppliers traditionally from Europe. As automotive parts are increasingly sourced from the Far East and USA, the

established agency network guaranteed on-time deliveries of both production and maintenance parts.
